The Fear of Outsourcing

The Yankee Group estimates that small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are resistant to outsourcing in today's economic climate. Yankee found only 6 percent of SMB outsource their IT, and only 16 percent were "very interested" in application outsourcing.

The reason for the reluctance? According to the Yankee Group, top fears of outsourcing applications included trust and security issues, and picking the wrong vendor.

Modes of Operation

We can explore the following modes of operation.

Project Based Association

This would mean that we work together for execution of specific projects.
We will pool in the resources as and when required.
Continuity which may be required at certain points of time may not be available. Best suited for very infrequent development requirement.

Establishing Remote Development Facility

We establish a low cost development facility dedicated for you. We develop a core team around which the development activities will revolve. This means continuity and better utilisation of talents groomed by deploying them into further development activity.

Methods of Project Execution

We can work on any of the following models.

Off-Site Development

• You can send us your requirement specification along with other relevant technical and interface details.
• We will execute the project at our location.
• You can periodically review the progress at each milestone and give us your feedback.
• Release of final version along with source code and documentation
• Warranty period of 60 days for bug fixing etc.
• Our continued support for upgrade, enhancements etc,.
  

On-Site Development

• Give us your requirement
• Interview and select people from our resource pool for placing them at the client's site
• The client processes the necessary papers required like work permit etc.
• Personnel despatched to the site on receipt of documents.
• The project is executed entirely by us on your behalf or under your supervision
  

Mixed Development

• Your project leader controlling our software team working off-site
• Project leader travels to our facility to brief the team (or) one of our personnel travels to your facility for project briefing.
• The project is executed at our facility monitored by the project leader through e-mail or / and visits periodically.
• Our person comes over there for implementation, if required Or else
• One of our personnel is stationed at your end and acts like a bridge.
• He can communicate to our team here, co-ordinate the project and report to you the progress. Implementation either by him or other person from the development team.

Cost Estimate

• On receipt your specifications, we will estimate the work content and cost. Then we can mutually agree upon the team size and delivery schedule.
  
• Mile-Stone Based Deliverables
• The progress of the project is completely at your hands, since at each milestone you will be reviewing the deliverable and giving us the nod to go to the next phase
• We shall work on mutually agreed milestones. We will provide deliverables at each milestone. You can review the progress at each milestone. Payments will be linked to deliverables at each milestone.

We assure complete confidentiality. If needed we can sign agreement for non-discloure of any propritory information passed on by you.
